What Permanent Makeup Costs in Orange County

Natural brow tattoo resultBrows

Permanent makeup pricing is oddly opaque for something that goes on your face. Here's a straight answer: what it costs, what actually drives the price, and how to think about value — using our own menu as the example, since it's the one we can speak to precisely.

Our prices, up front

  • Brow mapping consultation: $15 — design only; book a service and get a $45 credit toward your final fee (promo through Dec 31)
  • Powder / ombré brows: $499
  • Combo brows: $599
  • Nano hairstroke brows: $699
  • Lip blush: $599
  • Dark lip neutralization: $649
  • Touch-ups: $199 within the window (6 months for brows, 6 months for lips)

What you're actually paying for

1. Design time. Mapping a brow to your bone structure can take an hour by itself. It's the difference between brows that suit your face and brows that just sit on it.

2. The artist's judgment. Color theory, skin-type knowledge, symmetry — the stuff that keeps pigment from healing orange or blue two years later.

3. Pigment quality. Professional-grade pigments cost more and fade true. Cheap pigment is how brows turn salmon-pink.

4. Time and care. Our appointments run 3.5–4.5 hours: consultation, mapping, numbing, the procedure itself, and an aftercare kit to take home.

5. A real touch-up policy. Lips are a two-step treatment by nature; brows usually need refinement at 6–8 weeks. A $199 touch-up window is part of the service, not an upsell.

The long-term math

$699 brows that typically last 1–3 years work out to roughly $0.60–$1.80 a day. Brow pencils, gels, tints, and the ten minutes every morning add up to more than that — in money and in mornings. We're not saying it's cheap; we're saying the math is kinder than the sticker suggests.

Questions to ask any artist

Price-shopping? Ask these instead of comparing numbers:

  • Can I see healed photos — not just fresh? Fresh work always looks good. Healed work, months later, is the truth.
  • What's your touch-up policy and what does it cost? A cheap first session with expensive mandatory touch-ups isn't cheap.
  • What pigments do you use? Vague answers are a red flag.
  • What happens if I don't love the shape? Our answer: we don't start until you do. Make sure any artist can say the same.

Is the $15 consultation worth it?

It's design-only — no tattooing, no pressure, in person at the studio. You leave with a hand-drawn custom shape, a skin assessment, and an honest recommendation, and if you book a service, you get a $45 credit toward your final fee (promo through Dec 31). For something you'll wear for 1–3 years, it's the cheapest insurance there is.

Quick answers

Why do PMU prices vary so much between artists?

Experience, time spent per client, pigment quality, and whether touch-ups are included all move the number. Ask what's behind a price, not just what it is.

What's included in your prices?

Consultation and custom design, numbing, the procedure, an aftercare kit, and touch-up pricing within the window ($199).

Do I really need a touch-up?

For lips, yes — it's the second step of the treatment. For brows, most clients benefit from refinement at 6–8 weeks.

Is the $15 consultation worth it?

You see your custom brow shape before committing to anything, and you get a $45 credit toward your final fee if you book a service (promo through Dec 31).

Ready for easier mornings?

Start with a custom brow design and see your shape before you commit.
