General questions

Where is the studio located?

We’re at 930 West Coast Hwy, Suite 9, Newport Beach, CA 92663. See the map and contact details.

How do I book an appointment?

Text or call (323) 515-1777, DM @10am.beauty.studio on Instagram, message us on WhatsApp, or add _10amBeautyStudio on WeChat. Tell us the service and a few dates that work for you — online booking is live: book online.

Do you offer consultations?

Yes — a $15 consultation, in person at the studio. It’s design-only (no tattooing): for brows, we map a custom shape, assess your skin, and give you an honest nano-vs-powder recommendation; for lips, we assess your natural lip color, mix a custom shade for your tone so you can preview it, and advise whether lip blush or dark lip neutralization fits — with an optional pigment patch test if you’d like to check your sensitivity first. If you book a PMU service with us, you get a $45 credit toward your final fee (Black Friday promo through Dec 31).

Is a deposit required?

Yes. Every appointment needs a $99 deposit ($15 for consultations), applied to your balance. The $15 consultation fee is non-refundable; the $99 deposit is refundable if we cancel for suitability reasons — see our booking policy. If the deposit isn’t paid within 12 hours of booking, the appointment is cancelled automatically.

Do you offer payment plans?

Yes — we partner with Cherry to offer payment plans, so you can pay for your service in monthly installments instead of all at once. Ask us when you book and we’ll walk you through how it works.

What is your cancellation and rescheduling policy?

You can reschedule with at least 48 hours’ notice. Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the appointment — and no-shows — forfeit the deposit. Running late? There’s a 15-minute grace period; arriving more than 20 minutes late may require rescheduling. Full booking policy.

What languages do you speak?

English and Mandarin — from consultation through aftercare. 中文服务。

Is there an age requirement?

Yes — clients must be 18 or older.

What are your hours?

We’re open Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday, 9 AM – 8 PM.

Before & aftercare

Before your appointment

How should I prepare for my appointment?

Avoid alcohol and blood-thinning supplements for 24–48 hours before your session, and arrive with clean skin — no makeup on the treatment area.

Can I get PMU while pregnant or nursing?

Please check with us first. We don’t perform permanent makeup on clients who are pregnant or nursing.

I use retinol or tretinoin. Is that a problem?

Pause retinoid skincare on the treatment area at least two months before your appointment. Also tell us before booking if you have an active skin condition in the area, have used oral isotretinoin (Accutane) recently, or have a blood-clotting condition. If you take prescription retinoids, please consult your doctor before stopping.

I get cold sores. Can I still do lip blush?

Yes, but tell us when you book. Lip procedures can trigger an outbreak, so ask your doctor about antiviral medication beforehand. We can’t work on an active cold sore or broken skin.

I have old brow tattoo or microblading. Can you work over it?

Sometimes — it depends on how saturated the old pigment is and what color it healed. Send us clear, makeup-free photos in daylight (or book a $15 consultation) and we’ll give you an honest answer, including when removal is the better first step.

After your appointment

What does healing look like?

Brows: darker and more defined on days 1–2, light flaking on days 3–7, a faded “ghosting” stage around days 7–14, then the color settles by weeks 4–6. Lips: vivid color with mild swelling on days 1–2, dry and flaky on days 3–5, a faded stage in week 2, settled color around weeks 6–8. Every stage is normal — especially the fade.

How do I care for my brows after the appointment?

Keep them dry for 10–14 days, don’t pick or scratch at flakes, and apply the aftercare ointment exactly as directed. Once healed, wear sunscreen on the area and keep acids and retinoids off your brows.

How do I care for my lips after the appointment?

Keep them moisturized with the aftercare ointment provided and don’t pick at flaking skin. Avoid heavy-sweat workouts for 7–14 days.

When can I wear makeup, exercise, or swim again?

After 7–14 days, once the surface has settled. Until then, keep the treatment area dry and clean, and skip swimming, saunas, and heavy sweating.

When will I see the final result?

Around 6 weeks, once the skin has fully settled. A touch-up 6–8 weeks after your first session refines and evens out the result.

Brows

Nano, powder, or combo — which is right for me?

Nano hairstrokes give the most natural, hair-like look and suit normal to dry skin. Powder gives a soft, defined, makeup-like fill and holds better on oily skin. Combo blends both: strokes at the front, powder through the tail. Torn between them? The $15 brow mapping consultation includes an honest recommendation for your skin and style.

How long do brows last?

Typically 1–3 years, depending on your skin type, lifestyle, and aftercare.

Does it hurt?

We apply topical numbing before and during the procedure. Most clients describe it as very tolerable — pressure and vibration more than pain.

How long is the appointment?

Nano takes about 4.5 hours, powder about 3.5, and combo about 4. That includes consultation, mapping, and numbing — the tattooing itself is the shorter part.

Will I approve the shape before you start?

Always. Every brow is hand-mapped to your facial proportions, and we don’t start tattooing until you love the shape.

When will I need a touch-up?

For existing clients, brow touch-ups are $199 within 6 months of your first visit. Touch-ups after that are priced higher — ask us for current rates.

What’s the difference between nano hairstroke brows and microblading?

Both create hair strokes. Microblading cuts the skin with a handheld blade; nano uses a machine needle, which is gentler, places pigment at a more consistent depth, and heals more predictably — especially on oily skin. More on microblading vs. nano.

Lips

Lip blush or dark lip neutralization — which do I need?

Lip blush is for pale or uneven natural lip color — it adds a healthy tint and definition. If your lips have dark, purple, blue, or brown undertones, you’ll need neutralization first: corrective pigment softens those undertones so the final color heals even and true. Neutralization is gradual — many clients need more than one session before adding their final color.

How long does lip blush last?

About 1.5–3 years, depending on your lifestyle and aftercare. It fades gradually over time; exact fading depends on the pigment, your skin, and aftercare.

Is it a one-time treatment?

It’s a two-step treatment: your first visit plus a touch-up 6–8 weeks later, which evens out and locks in the color. Touch-ups within 6 months are $199.

Does it hurt?

Lips are sensitive, so we use a stronger numbing protocol. Most clients handle it well.

How long is the appointment?

About 3.5 hours, including color consultation, numbing, and the procedure.

Will it look like lipstick?

No — lip blush is a sheer tint, not opaque lipstick coverage. It defines your border, evens out tone, and gives you a healthy flush. One honest note: it adds color and definition, not volume.

Can I choose the color?

Yes. Every shade is custom-mixed for your skin tone and preference, and you approve it before we begin.

Eyeliners

Does it hurt?

The eye area is sensitive, so we numb thoroughly first. Most clients describe it as mild pressure or a tickling sensation rather than pain.

I wear contacts. Is that a problem?

Not at all — just bring your glasses and skip contacts during the procedure.

How long does it last?

Typically 2–3 years, depending on your skin type, lifestyle and aftercare. Most clients come back for a refresh every couple of years; touch-ups are $199.

What should I avoid before my appointment?

Skip lash serums (they make lids sensitive), lash lifts and lash extensions for at least 2 weeks before. Avoid alcohol and blood-thinning supplements for 24–48 hours beforehand.

When can I wear eye makeup again?

After 7–14 days, once the surface has settled. When you resume mascara, open a fresh tube.
